The latest update to Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile is out, and it’s pretty good. Many players have prepared enough POE Currency to play it. While patch 3.17.4 introduces a beta version of the new DirectX 12 renderer, it also implements controller improvements.

Players can change Path of Exile’s renderer to DirectX 12 or Vulkan in the graphics options. That said, the new DX12 renderer is out now, and players can test it out right away. Early reports suggest this version makes the game feel smoother with less stutter than before. While it has improved the DX12 implementation in patch 3.17.4, the Vulkan renderer is no slouch either, it is no longer in beta, so it should be more stable now. Players can try them all to choose the one that suits them best.

Anyway, the developers made some improvements to the controller. Most notably, players can now manage their party and teleport to their party members through the Escape menu. A “Party Invites” section has also been added to the Escape menu in controller input mode.

And it also brings improvements and fixes to the controller. It adds Controller navigation to the “Create Party” and “Public Parties” sections of the Social Screen. Added keybindings for acknowledging a player’s status message in the Social Screen. Added a keybinding for “Allow friends to visit your Hideout” in the Hideout decoration panel in controller input mode.

Fixed a bug where gems could not be removed from items when opening the Crafting Bench UI in controller input mode. Fixed a bug that prevented the “Offer Item” keybinding from being used when trading with players other than Towns or Hideouts.
